Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM communication apparatus and a fault reporting method therefor by which the transmission of plural similar alarm monitor OAM cells is controlled.
SOLUTION: An E-E VP-RDI cell is monitored by E-E RDI cell monitoring parts 1323-N-1 to 1323-N-M, and when the E-E VP-RDI cell is received, a received VPI value is reported to a Seg RDI cell generating part 1324-N. When the VPI value of the generated VP-RDI cell is equal, the RDI cell generating part 1324-N, to which the VPI value is reported, immediately stops generating the VP-RDI cell. E-E VP-RDI cells monitored by the E-E RDI cell monitor parts 1323-N-1 to 1323-N-M are transferred to a cell multiplexing part 1326, passed through a Seg RDI cell inserting part 1325-N and sent to a signal line 152-N.
