PURPOSE: To make an ATM switching system compact and to reduce its cost.
CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with a detection section 2-20 detecting output destination information added to a cell received by an input path, an output buffer 2-5n storing received cells and outputting the cell to plural output paths, an output buffer control section 2-4 controlling read/write to/from the output buffer, and the output buffer control section 2-4 is provided with a cell write control means, a band storing means storing cell band information in advance corresponding to output destination information, a read control means of a cell to be written based on the cell band information corresponding to the output destination information by referring to the band storage means based on the output destination information detected by the detection section 2-20 and a switch means 2-3 outputting the read cell to an output path based on the output destination information detected by the detection section 2-20.
