Abstract:
To provide an atomic oscillator and a frequency signal generation system having high frequency-stability.SOLUTION: The atomic oscillator includes: an atomic cell having a first portion and a second portion at a different position from the first portion and housing alkali metal atoms; a light-emitting element emitting light that excites the alkali metal atoms toward the atomic cell; a first temperature detection element detecting temperature of the first portion; a first temperature controlling element controlling the temperature of the first portion based on detection results of the first temperature detection element; a second temperature detection element located in a portion having a thermal resistance higher than a thermal resistance between the first portion and the second portion, and detecting temperature of the located portion; a second temperature controlling element controlling the temperature of the second portion to be higher than the temperature of the first portion based on detection results of the second temperature detection element or based on information of temperature control by the first temperature controlling element; and a light-receiving element receiving the light transmitted through the atomic cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
