Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and miniaturizable optical pump type atomic oscillator, having no need of resonance frequency adjustment or antennas or probes.
SOLUTION: A slot line resonator 10 is disposed as a microwave resonator at a position for exciting atoms. A micro stripline 6 for inputting a microwave is formed crosswise to a slot line 3, with a dielectric board 1 laid in between the stripline 6 and the line 3. The atoms are sealed in a package 12 mounted on the slot line resonator 10 and a metal cover 13, having a pumping light pass opening 14 and a photodetector 15 covers the resonator 10 and the package 12.
