To allow an atomizer containing a device for producing high pressure in a fluid to be made simpler in design and inexpensive to produce and suited to its function.
The atomizer includes a piston (2) which is movable in a cylinder (1), a high pressure chamber (4), and a valve containing a valve member (3). The valve member (3) is guided by a hollow piston to be axially movable without any auxiliary force. The hollow piston is provided with a first stop means (8) to limit axial movement of the valve member. A sealing surface is provided at an inlet end of the valve member. When the valve member is brought into contact with the first stop means, the valve is opened, and when the valve member is brought into contact with the sealing surface, the valve is closed. The hollow piston has the first stop means outside a region of an outlet end. The valve member is mounted so as to be axially movable at the outlet end of the hollow piston, and has a plurality of hooks (6, 10). The sealing surface is provided to the inlet end of the valve member.
