A leg end tool 4 is attached to the lower end of a column 2 by threadably driving an externally threaded part 11 into the internally threaded part of a metallic support member 5, so that a table or the like is stably supported. Also, since the lower end of the metallic column 2 is covered with a cover body 1 made of a synthetic resin, safety is assured. The cover body 1 is freely removably provided at the lower end of the column 2 by use of a notch or hole in the support member 5, so that it is not only prevented from being directly exerted with the load of the table and damaged during use but also can be easily separated from the metallic column 2 for disposal.
