To attach a wiring appliance satisfactorily so as to absorb difference in thickness of attachment positions and attach a decoration plate to a plate frame stably.
An attachment device has a plate frame 1, a holding metal fitting retaining part 3 for the plate frame 1, holding metal fittings 7 whose base ends are accommodated in the recessed channel 71 of the holding metal fitting retaining part 3, screws 5 screwed into the screw holes 72 of the holding metal fittings 7 and a decoration plate 28 from which engagement nails 29 are made to protrude. Engagement tabs 15 of a wiring appliance 14 provided in an opening 2 are engaged with engagement holes 13 in the edge part of the opening 2 to attach the wiring appliance 14 to the plate frame 1. A building element is held between the plate frame 1 and the holding metal fittings 7 which are moved toward the holes 6 of the plate frame 1 following the screwing of the screws 5. The decoration plate 28 is placed in front of the front surface of the plate frame 1. The engagement nails 29 of the decoration plate 28 are engaged with engagement parts 30 formed in the plate frame 1. The decoration plate 28 is attached to the plate frame 1 while the wiring appliance 14 is exposed from an opening window 27. The heads of the screws 5 are made to sink into a recess 73 formed in the surface of the plate frame 1 which is covered with the decoration plate 28.
