To provide an attendance information management method and system using a portable terminal registering attendance information even outside the office without incurring packet charges for attendance information transmission and reception.

The attendance information management method uses: a portable terminal having a short distance wireless communication means with a non-contact type IC; an information terminal having a non-contact type IC reader/writer; and a server device connected with the information terminal through a communication network. The method includes a step in which the portable terminal transmits the attendance information stored in a storage unit to the information terminal by short distance wireless communication; a step in which the information terminal receives the attendance information and transmits the received attendance information to the server device through the communication network; and a step in which the server device receives the attendance information from the information terminal through the communication network.
