The attenuation device for attenuating a moving speed of a moving object that moves back and forth includes: an attenuation part having a rotary shaft, attenuation means for generating torque by rotation in one direction of the rotary shaft, an arm part extending in a radial direction of the rotary shaft, and a rotation member freely rotatably attached to one end of the arm part; and a guide member having a contact part attached to the moving object, and a guide part extending from one end of the contact part in a moving direction of the moving object.
