Abstract:
To provide novel Au-modified PtNi-based alloy nanoparticle having excellent durability, a method for manufacturing the same, and an electrode catalyst using the same.SOLUTION: Au-modified PtNi-based alloy nanoparticles include PtNi-based alloy nanoparticles made of a PtNi-based alloy containing at least Pt and Ni, and Au coating parts of the surfaces of the PtNi-based alloy nanoparticles. The PtNi-based alloy nanoparticle has an octahedron or truncated octahedron. An electrode catalyst includes a carrier formed of a conductive material, and Au-modified PtNi-based alloy nanoparticles carried on the surface of the carrier. Such Au-modified PtNi-based alloy nanoparticles are obtained by adding an Au precursor solution to a dispersion liquid in which PtNi-based alloy nanoparticles each having the octahedron or truncated octahedron are dispersed, and heating it to a predetermined temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
