PURPOSE: To provide Au solder for ornament which has improved resistance to sulfiding and corrosion and by which the same color tone as the color tone of ornamental goods of a stainless steel, etc. by incorporating a specific amt. of Cu, Pd, Ni and Sn into Au.

CONSTITUTION: Au solder for ornament consists of 50W60wt% Au, 10W25% Cu, 5W20% Pd, 15W20% Ni, and 0.5W5% Sn. The Au solder is added with an adequate amt. of Cu Ni and Pd which form a homogeneous solid soln. with Au by taking corrosion resistance and a color tone into consideration and a small amt. of Sn which is an element for decreasing the m.p. without incorporating Ag which deteriorates the resistance to sulfiding of the elements added thereto and Zn which is liable to cause oxidation by evaporation. The brazing material has the same color tone of a stainless steel and has high strength and corrosion resistance and is therefore suitable for brazing ornamental articles for external decoration of a watch, etc.
