Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an audible message generator for a digital TV system.
CONSTITUTION: A TV signal in the shape of multiplex digital packet stream to represent information of compressed video and audio is received by a digital TV receiver 15. Each packet is transmitted to each digital video and audio signal processing part according to header information of the packet itself, decoded, compression is released and D-A converted. Various messages are generated by tone or voice by the audible message generator and the audible message generator is provided with memory 1529 of digital information to represent the audible message whose compression form is the same as the one at a transmission side and a controller 1527 to selectively transmit the digital information to a packet transfer unit 1507 when the audible message is required to be supplied. The digital information of the audible message is transmitted to a digital audio processing part 1513 by the transfer unit 1507, decoded, compression is released as mentioned above and reproduced as an analog audible message.
