PURPOSE: To surely perform the stoppage at a programed time in order to stop a decoded voice output after prescribed processings are performed by specifying the last compressed frame of a MPEG audio compressed bit stream with an end code.
CONSTITUTION: An audio compressed bit steam S1 in which an end code of 4 bits and an end processing code are added right after a last frame is inputted to a decoder LSI11 and then stored in the buffer area of an outside RAM 14. At the time when the buffer area becomes a full state and frame information are written-in in the work area of the RAM 14, when the end code is present, the end code is detected by an end code detecting part 26 and then an end processing code is fetched to an end processing code latching part 28. Further, a stoppage operation is discriminated by an end processing code discriminating part 30 and generations of pipe line signals S2, S3, S4 being decoded outputs in a timming generator 18 are stopped. Thus, the decoded voice output is stopped surely at the prearranged time.
