PURPOSE: To optimumly and automatically set the frequency characteristic of an equalizer without any complicated operation by setting or updating the frequency characteristic to the equalizer corresponding to a turned-on source based on the output of a manipulation part.
CONSTITUTION: When the manipulation part 6 selectively turns on the source of a main body 1 of an FM radio receiver, main body 2 of an AM radio receiver, main body 3 of a cassette player, main body 4 of a DC player or main body 5 of a DAT player, etc., the frequency characteristic is automatically set through a control part 12 to the equalizer corresponding to the source selected from a memory 11. Similarly, the frequency characteristic of the equalizer 7 is updated or the contents of the memory 11 are updated without changing the contents of the memory 11 through the control part 12. Thus, the frequency characteristic of the equalizer is optimumly and automatically set without any complicated operations.
