To reproduce audio corresponding to a selected image while reducing the storage capacity needed to display the image to be used as an index.

A digital camera 1 photographs a white board 2 each time a character etc., is entered to generate its difference image. The digital camera 1 adds photography time information to each generated difference image and stores them. Further, the digital camera 1 records audio, adds recording time information to the recorded audio, and stores them. The digital camera 1 puts difference images together to generate a final image, and displays it on a liquid crystal monitor 13. When a difference image is selected from the final image, the digital camera 1 refers to the photography time information added to the difference image and reproduces the audio from the corresponding recording time.
