PURPOSE: To locate a sound image before and after a screen through the addition of a simple circuit only by providing a delay device in series with a post- stage of a Dolby prologic decoder and using a front LR reproduction speaker so as to reproduce retarded L and R signals.

CONSTITUTION: Inputted audio signals Lt, Rt are separated into front L, C, R signals and a surround signal S by a Dolby prologic decoder 1. The separated front L, R signals are delayed by delay devices 2, 3 retarding time independently and the signals are power-amplified by front L, R reproduction power amplifiers 4, 6 and sound is reproduced from the front LR reproduction speakers 7L, 7R. Thus, conventional planar sound location reproduced by the front LCR reproduction speakers 7L, 7C, 7R is easily located to the rear side. Then the signal C is sounded from the front side of a video reproduction screen 11 and the planar sense of the front sound image is improved.
