An auger for ice making machine is constituted of an auger main body 11, having a spiral edge unit 11b on the outer peripheral surface of the same, and shaft units 12, 13, provided at both ends of the auger main body 11 and supported so as to be rotatable. The auger main body 11 is constituted of a cylindrical body 11a and a spiral edge unit 11b, formed separately from the cylindrical body 11a and integrated by welding the same onto the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical body 11a, whereby the weight of the same is reduced compared with an auger main body, formed of a solid rod, and manufacturing efficiency is improved thereby reducing the cost of the same by forming the spiral edge unit 11b through welding and abolishing the use of machining.
