PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new protein for diagnosing or preventing Aujeszky's disease of industrial animals and pets, by manifestation with a baculoviral vector incorporated with a gene coding Auheszky's disease viral gII protein.
CONSTITUTION: A gene coding Aujeszky's disease viral gII protein is incorporated in a baculoviral transfer vector, and the resultant vector is introduced into a baculovirus to prepare a transformant. Sensitive cells are then infected with this transformant and cultured, and then manifested with this vector, and the gII protein thus manifested is recovered to obtain the objective gII protein useful as e.g. the diagnosing pharmaceutical preparations or preventive vaccines for industrial animals or pets such as pigs, cows, dogs, cats or sheep infected with Aujeszky's disease virus.
