Title:
AUSTENITIC NICKEL-MOLYBDENUM ALLOY AND STRUCTURAL PARTS OF CHEMICAL PLANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06212326
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a weldable nickel-molybdenum alloy free from a tendency of the surplus loss of toughness, also free from a tendency of rapid cooling cracking at the time of executing heat treatment or in the midst of welding and excellent in corrosion resistance.

CONSTITUTION: This austenitic nickel-molybdenum alloy has a compsn. contg. 26.0 to 30.0% Mo, 1.0 to 7.0% Fe, 0.4 to 1.5% Cr, ≤1.5% Mn, ≤0.05% Si, ≤2.5% Co, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.01% S, 0.1 to 0.5% Al, ≤0.1% Mg, ≤1.0% Cu, ≤0.01% C, ≤0.01% N, and the balance nickel with ordinary impurities caused by melting, in which the total content of interstitially dissolved elements (carbon + nitrogen) is limited to 0.015%, furthermore, the total content of elements (aluminum + magnesium) is adjusted within the limits of 0.15 to 0.40%, corrosion resistance in a basic medium is excellent and thermal stability is excellent in the temp. range of 650 to 950°C.
