Title:
AUSTENITIC STAINLESS STEEL EXCELLENT IN PITTING CORROSION RESISTANCE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3304001
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To impart high stress and high corrosion fatigue strength to steel, in austenitic stainless steel, by compositely adding Nb and V and particularly specifying the content of Mo and Cu.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. of stainless steel is constituted of, by weight, ≤0.08% C, 1.5% Si, 4 to <6% Mn, 6 to 17% Ni, >20 to 25% Cr, 0.5 to 4% Mo, one or two kinds of 0.1 to 1.0% Nb and 0.05 to 1.0% V, 0.15 to 0.5% N and 0.1 to 3.0% Cu, and the balance substantial Fe. This steel is subjected to solution treatment at 950 to 1250%oC and is thereafter subjected to plastic working at the working finishing temp. of ≤1000°C. In this way, the austenitic stainless steel excellent in pitting corrosion in a corrosive environment can be obtd. This stainless steel has characteristics of ≥460mV pitting corrosion voltage Vc'100 and ≥540N/mm2 0.2% proof stress.
