Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve hot workability, by contg. prescribed ratios of C, N, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, etc., and controlling the components in such a way as to maitain the content of delta ferrite and a hot deformation index at prescribed values.

CONSTITUTION: Titled austenitic steel which consists, by weight %, of ≤0.1% C, ≤0.05% N, ≤1% Si, ≤3% Mn, ≤0.04% P, 16W25% Cr, ≤0.015% S, 8W16% Ni, ≤0.1% Al, ≤0.1% rare earth elements, and wherein the content of delta ferrite δ expressed by the equation I is maintained at ≤20 and the hot deformation index W expressed by the equation II at ≥25 by controlling the components thereof. This steel has good hot workability, and improves productivity and product yield markedly.
