To provide a biometrics authenticating device to be used while being relatively quickly updated capable of preventing the problem of privacy, and ensuring alternative candidates.

This authenticating device comprises an image acquiring means G(nail shape inputting part 1) for acquiring the nail shape of the finger of a person P to be measured, a storage means S (nail shape DB server 2) for storing the nail shape obtained by the image acquiring means G, an authenticating means A (nail shape authenticating part 3) for comparing the nail shape obtained by the image acquiring means G with the nail shape stored by the storing means S for authentication, and an executing means E (processing executing part 6) for executing preliminarily determined procedures by using the authentication result obtained by the authenticating means A.
