Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an error in entering a password due to a touching error while ensuring security.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: a touch panel 111 that displays a software keyboard having a plurality of input keys indicating characters, numbers, or symbols arranged thereon, and receives an operation to touch the input keys corresponding to touched positions on a display surface on which the software keyboard is displayed; an authentication processing part 165 that executes user authentication by collating an entered password entered through the touch panel 111 with a preset password 131; and a touching error detection part 163 that, when a result of collation is unmatched, detects a touching error in the entered password. When a touching error is detected, the authentication processing part 165 authenticates the entered password assuming that the preset password 131 is entered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
