Abstract:
An authentication method using a hardware token connectable to a computer, said method comprising the steps of: obtaining, from the hardware token, in the computer, one or more random numbers R generated in the hardware token; returning, from the computer to the hardware token, a signature Ck'(R) formed on the random numbers R with a computer secret key Ck'; and making the computer receive from the hardware token, authentication of the signature Ck'(R) that is performed by the hardware token using a computer public key Ck stored in the hardware token.
