Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-lock mechanism and a medium processing device that can secure security even without increasing the sizes thereof.SOLUTION: When a temporary holding unit is made to slide from a mounting position in an extraction direction, a rack gear 24B is brought into abutment with a second gear 35 exposed from a case 30 in the middle of a slide range, and tries to rotate the second gear 35 in the other direction. However, the rotation of the second gear 35 is limited in one direction to disable rotation, and thereby the temporary holding unit locks it so as not to move in the extraction direction. Also, when the temporary holding unit is made to slide from an extraction completion position in the mounting direction, the rack gear 24B is brought into abutment with the second gear 35 the rotation of which is limited in one direction in the middle of the slide range, and the second gear 35 is made to rotate in one direction. Accordingly, the temporary holding unit is made to slide to the mounting position and locked automatically.
