Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-tracking device of a digital VTR which can adjust the tracking position to a point where an error rate is reduced.
SOLUTION: This auto-tracking device is provided with a primary search processing means which detects the amplitude of an envelope waveform obtained from an envelope detection circuit while changing the tracking position and searches for a tracking position where the largest amplitude is secured for the envelope waveform and a secondary search processing means which detects the total number of error corrections obtained per frame from an error correction circuit while changing the tracking position within the tracking position range searched by the primary search processing means and searches for a tracking position where the total number of errors is minimized per frame.
