To provide an automated lock device of a handle type movable shelf wherein when an operator gets into a passage, the shelf is automatically locked and when he gets out of the passage, the shelf is automatically unlocked.
An entering/leaving sensing means and a count storage means to count the number of entering/leaving are provided at an entrance and exit of each of passages 1-4 between adjoining shelves A-E to sense if a delivery operator has got into the passage or has left the passage by means of the interruption of light signal or the order of incident rays. And when the entrance of the operator is sensed, a lock means provided with a motor-operated actuator is actuated to prevent a free revolution of a running wheel, thereby maintaining a locked state, and if the count number of entering/leaving conforms to the stored number, the shelves are automatically unlocked.
