When a packaging unit, consecutively repeating the entire processes from preparation of materials to the shipping of products, is driven through a control unit, the automated machine monitoring unit monitors a status of the packaging unit by reading data transmitted from the control unit through a monitor communication section. The monitoring unit includes a counting section 85 for counting the number of operating times of each device 1-5, namely a PLC 80, a relay 81, an electromagnetic valve 82, a cylinder 83 and a sensor 84, related to the drive of the components in the packaging unit; and a reset section 87 for resetting the number of operating times of each device counted by the counting section 85.
