Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a long material using simple equipment with high efficiency.
SOLUTION: A parent carriage 19 for longitudinal movement is moved vertically on the horizontal surface along a carriage longitudinal passage 11, and a carriage 17 for traverse movement is moved horizontally between the carriage longitudinal passage 11 and a rack 10 on the horizontal surface using a multi- stage expansion device 24 for child carriage traverse movement. A lifting device is operated in the carriage longitudinal passage 11 and the rack 10 to lift a pallet 15 by a very small distance necessary to transfer it. It is thus possible to carry the long material 14 in/out of an automated storage and retrieval system for supply and storage of the long material 14 easily and promptly.
