A rack has a plurality of pallet-receiving parts for locating a pallet 6, on which a plate material W can be loaded, and a stacker crane 3 has a pallet forward and backward mechanism 10 and a plate material pick-up device 11. The pallet forward and backward mechanism 10 is constituted so that the pallet 6 can be moved forward and backward, between a predetermined position P1 of the stacker crane 3 and the pallet-receiving part and delivered to the pallet receiving part. The plate material pick-up device 11 is constituted so that it can raise and hold one plate material W on the pallet 6, at a predetermined position.
