PURPOSE: To ensure that a predetermined length of an adhesive tape can be automatically applied to an applied body such as a fastener in the axial direction by providing a member of which the operating timing can be set on a timer or the like.

CONSTITUTION: When the front end of an applied body has passed by a light passing hole 31a of a guide passage 31, a timer T1 functions; after a preset time period, a solenoid 13 is fed with power, so that upper and lower movable rods 3 and 4 pivotable in parallel with each other are pivoted downward so as to apply the adhesive tape 30 in contact with the central groove portion of a presser rooler 8 to the applied body. In this case, a presser plate 11 fixed on the lower face of a holder frame 9 is in such a state as to release the pressing of the tape 30 against the roller 8. When the rear end of the applied body has passed by the hole 31a, a timer T2 functions; after a preset time period, the power supply for the solenoid 13 is cut off, the rods 3 and 4 are raised to their original positions, and the tape 30 is pressed against the groove portion of the roller 8 by the plate 11 and is cut at the position slightly inside the rear end of the applied body by a cutter 22.
