Title:
AUTOMATIC BOOKBINDING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3619071
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and quietly feed a cover to a signature by a method wherein the opening/closing action of a cover gripping claw for feeding the cover one by one is performed by positive cams in order to eliminate errors due to a cam mechanism in the cover feeding station of an automatic bookbinding machine, which unites the cover with the signature by adhering the former to the lather.
SOLUTION: A cover feeding station consists of a cover feeding stand 4c, which is equipped with both the upper and lower guides 4a and 4b and on which covers O are seated, and a paper feeding drum 1a, which is equipped with a cover gripping claw 1 and rotates about a paper feeding shaft 1c. In addition, by threading the screw shaft 4d of a screw motor 4f to an internal screw thread 4e attached to the lower guide 4b, the lower guide 4b is vertically moved. Further, the lowermost layer cover O is attracted one by one with a suction pad and separated from others so as to be gripped with the cover gripping claw 1 and delivered. Furthermore, a gripping claw gear 2 is attached to the gripping claw shaft 1b of the cover gripping claw 1. A cam lever 3a equipped with the respective followers 3b and 3c of positive cams is interlockingly connected to the cam shaft 2b of a cam gear 2a meshed with the gripping claw gear 2.
