PURPOSE: To release jammed paper money and perform automatic restoration from failure in such a way that rollers or belts are opened at the trouble spot which has been out of order for normal paper money conveyance.

CONSTITUTION: When trouble detection is being done between detecting sensors e, t and g, though paper money (A) has passed through the sensors e and f within the specified time, since the sensor g fails to detect the tip of the paper money within the specified time, driving is stopped fortwith by means of output signal g' of the sensor g, and all of the conveying system is obliged to stop. Then, the rollers at the spot where the paper money has been jammed are moved to the positions 5' and 6'. Belts 12W15 which are put around the rollers 5 and 6 are brought to be set to the condition as shown by 12'W15'. Then, the paper money (A) which has been released is automatically housed into a paper money housing vessel 20 such as seen on (A) and (A').
