PURPOSE: To provide an automatic choke device for an engine, in which restarting performance after the completion of the warming-up operation can be improved.

CONSTITUTION: In an automatic chock device provided with an automatic chock member 16 for closing a starting mixed air passage of a carburetor after its volume is expanded by electrification, and an electrification control circuit 34 for supplying electric current from a battery 31 to the automatic chock member 16 in the operation of an engine, the battery 31 and the automatic chock member 16 are parallely connected to the electrification control circuit 34 through an engine temperature switch 35 to be turned on when the engine temperature is not less than the specified temperature.
