Abstract:
Method for handling containers, e.g. cans and bottles, in a lying position, in which the contour of a container is detected and the contour is rotated to permit reading of an identification code by a code reader. Rotation rollers (1, 2) used for the rotation of the containers are configured as hollow bodies and have an aperture (6) in the hollow body in a longitudinal direction. First and second conveyers (7, 8) are arranged within the rotation rollers in fixed positions relative to each other. When the rollers rotate any containers are lifted from the conveyer belts (9) and rotated with the rollers. An independent claim is made for a device for handling containers.
