PURPOSE: To display the contents of plural jobs on the same screen so that the inquiry of one job is successively generated to a host only by one inquiry from an operator by integrating an automatic and continuous inquiry function in a terminal control device.

CONSTITUTION: Operator's inquiry is transferred to an inquiry job inspecting function 7 through a terminal input control function 6. At that time, the number of jobs and the sorts of jobs are inspected and stored in a job storing table 12 and an inquiry information forming function 8 refers the table 12, forms host transmission information for a job to be inquired next and transfers the formed information to a host transmission function 9. A response arriving from the host is transferred to a connection inquiry deciding function 11 through a host receiving function 10. When an uninquired job exists by referring the table 12, the function 11 requests the succeeding job inquiry to a host transmission information forming function 18. Thereby, only the function sufficient for executing a single job is required for the host and the terminal and the results of the job are displayed on the same screen.
