Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically direct a camera toward an object by providing photoelectric sensors with four-way light receiving sensitivity sections adjoined into a cross shape on a light receiving path receiving the reflected light from the object, and rotatively controlling an electric tripod with an electric drive system until the outputs of their photoelectric transfer signals are made nearly equal.

CONSTITUTION: Light sources 42, 43 provided on an electric tripod 20 to project the light in the front region of a camera, a reflecting member 44 provided on part of an object or near it to reflect the light of the light sources 42, 43, a light receiver 41 provided on the electric tripod 20 to receive the reflected light of the reflecting member 44, and an electric drive system rotatively controlling the electric tripod 20 in response to the photoelectric transfer signal of the light receiver 41 are provided. The light receiver 41 has photoelectric sensors 46 with four-way light receiving sensitivity sections adjoined into a cross shape, and the electric drive system rotatively controls the electric tripod 20 until the outputs of the phototelectric transfer signals of the light receiving sensitivity sections are made nearly equal. The camera can be automatically directed toward the object.
