PURPOSE: To automatically register and retrieve parts by providing a register means for parts control information to allow this information to describe as the language specifications.

CONSTITUTION: A parts control device 1 contains a parts control information collecting parts 11, a parts control information register part 12 and a parts control information retrieving part 13 in addition to a source file 2, an object file 3, a parts control information data base 4 and an input/output device 5. When a produced program is compiled, a compiler calls out the part 11 to obtain the parts control information (function outlines, etc.) from a prescribed area and stores this information into a program header part in the file 3. Then the part 12 is called out when the produced program is registered as a parts and the program header is read out of the file 3 to obtain the parts control information. This information is registered to the base 4 and also retrieved by the part 13 to be outputted and displayed on the device 5.
