Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the secondary disasters such as fires and the like caused by a gas supply valve at the time of earthquake by providing a spring on a handle of the supply valve for keeping the spring at a power-storing condition by holding a ratchet and releasing this ratchet holding when a weight falls down by the earthquake. CONSTITUTION:An operation handle 22 is rotated to store power on a spring 23 to open a gas supply valve 2. A hooking member 30 is caught in a ratchet 32 to keep a spiral spring 23 at a power-storing condition. A weight 37 is placed on a concave part of a receiving part 34, and when the weight 37 falls down by an earthquake, the hooking member 30 is rotated in a reverse direction via a string- shaped member 36. This construction permits to release the stored power of the spring 23 and close the supply valve 2.
