PURPOSE: To position a sewing arm and a sewing bed constituting a sewing- machine frame in a highly accurate manner, thereby enabling them as to be automatically coupled together.
CONSTITUTION: At least a relative position between a sewing arm A and a sewing bed B automatically clamped in a state of putting mutual joining surfaces together is automatically measured and, after the sewing arm A is automatically corrected of its position on the basis of the measured value, a coupling bolt is automatically clamped tight and then at least the relative position between the sewing arm A and the sewing bed B unclamped is automatically remeasured. In this case, if the remeasured value is within the specified accuracy range, their coupling is over, and thus a sewing-machine frame is completed. In addition, if the remeasured value is out of the specified accuracy range, the sewing arm A and the sewing bed B are automatically reclamped, and the bolt is automatically loosened to some extent, and then those operations of clamp, measurement, position correction, bolt clamping, unclamping and remeasurement are repeated.
