PURPOSE: To enable full automatic length measurement, cutting, and carry-out of a material, by a method wherein a material placed on a stowing table is fed from a conveying means on the income side through a cutter to a conveying means on the outgo side to stop the material by means of a positioning means, the material is clamped, and after it is cut, it is released from clamping and is carried by a carrying-out means.
CONSTITUTION: Data is inputted from a data input unit to the input unit of a computer control device 40, and when a material 72 is placed on a conveying means 61 on the income side, a positioning means 71 is moved to a set position and stopped thereat. After the means 71 is stopped. the conveying means 61 and a conveying means 64 on the outgo side are simultaneously driven, and when the material 72 enters the set range of a noncontact sensor, the sensor outputs a signal, and by means of the signal, the material 72 is clamped by a clamp means 62. The conveying means 61 and 64 are stopped, and after the material is cut by means of a cutter 63, it is returned to its original position, the means 71 is moved backward for stop, and the clamp means 62 is returned to its original position to release the material from clamp. Thereafter, a cut material 73 is collided with the means 71 for a stop by means of the conveying means 64, and a conveying means 68 places the material 73 on a cut material stowing table 69.
