To attain proper preheating of a photosensitive planographic printing plate and to make a preheating section compact.
A conveying path for a photopolymer plate 12 is configured by skewed rollers 28 in the heating chamber 26 of a preheating section 14 and the temperature of the air in the heating chamber is kept at the higher limit of heating temperature of the photopolymer plate by a far IR heater 30 and a circulating fan 80. The photopolymer plate is discharged while being heated by the far IR heater and the air in the heating chamber. A cooling fan 88 is disposed on the pre-washing section 16 side of the heating chamber to cool the photopolymer plate fed in the pre-washing section. Thus, the preheating section can be made compact and the occurrence of defects in finish such as blotches on the photopolymer plate fed in the pre-washing section is prevented.
