PURPOSE: To process a silver halide photographic sensitive material with excellent fixability and scratching resistance while maintaining a covering power.

CONSTITUTION: This roller-conveyed developing machine consists of a developing stage, fixing stage, washing stage and drying stage, and L10.75×T=15.0 to 40.0 and L2<L3 are fulifilled. In the inequalities, L, is the length (m) of a line extending from below the developer surface of a developing tank 3a to below the liq. surface of a washing tank, L2 is the length (m) of a line extending from below the developer surface to below the fixer surface of a fixing tank 3b, L3 is the length (m) of a line extending from below the developer surface to below the liq. surface of the washing tank 3c, and T is the time (sec) required for the material to travel from below the developer surface to below the liq. surface of the washing tank. The silver halide photographic sensitive material has a silver halide emulsion layer on at least one side of a substrate, and the amt. of a hydrophilic colloid on the photosensitive silver halide side is controlled to ≥3.0g/m2. Such a sensitive material is processed by the above-mentioned method.
