The automatic device includes an antenna 10 for receiving at least either of a reflected wave and a transmitted wave from a detection object of a radiated transmission wave as a reception wave, a mixer part 16 for synthesizing the transmission wave with the reception wave, a frequency detection part 22 for detecting a frequency of a detection signal output from the mixer part, a determination part 24 for outputting a control signal based on detection results by the frequency detection part, and a part to be controlled by the control signal. The determination part outputs a control signal for executing the first operation to the part to be controlled when the frequency of the detection signal is lowered, and then outputs a control signal for executing the second operation to the part to be controlled when the frequency of the detection signal is raised or lowered after being raised.
