PURPOSE: To easily set an optional pause time when the pause time is set after the automatic dialer connecting to an extension of an automatic exchange is switched to an external line.

CONSTITUTION: When a one-touch key 6 is depressed at dialing, data of an area in a relevant memory are read one by one digit each by a control circuit 2. When the code read by one digit is not a pause code, a dialer means 7 is controlled to send a dial signal. When the code is the pause code, whether or not a succeeding digit code is 00-09 is discriminated, and when the succeeding digit code is 00-09, since the pause time is set, the pause is executed. When the code is other than the code 00-09, no pause time is set and the pause code is singly set, then a default pause time is executed. Thus, an optional time is easily set when the pause time is set after the operation of changeover from an extension to an external line.
