PURPOSE: To send data efficiently when an exchange line is in use as the WAN (wide area network service) by using a setting section in contrast with a number of a terminal equipment adaptor corresponding to a destination IP address so as to make dialing for connection automatically.

CONSTITUTION: TCP/IP protocol data from a gateway device 2 received via a terminal equipment interface section 10 of a terminal equipment adaptor 1 are stored in a memory section 6. A TCP/IP decoding section 7 decodes the received data and informs it to a control section 4 and stores it to the memory section 6 as the data in the unit of destination IP address. The control section judges the telephone number to be dialed from the stored destination IP address based on the information in the setting section 5 in which the contrast of the telephone number of the terminal adaptor corresponding to the destination IP address is set and controls a call control section 8 to connect to the terminal adaptor at a remote location by accessing an exchange network 3 through a line interface 11.
