Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an automatic document feeder by which a placed document is prevented from being bent along the document placing faces of a document table and an auxiliary table even by using a document placing means in which the auxiliary table is supported at the upstream end of the document table at the inclined angle greater than the placing angle of the document table, and paper feed failure caused by the bending of the document is prevented.
CONSTITUTION: This automatic document feeder is provided with the document placing means 18 for placing documents, and a document feeding means 33 for feeding the document placed on the means 18. The means 18 is provided with the document table 22, and the auxiliary table 24 which is turnably attached to the upstream end of the document table 22, positioned at a first position to be folded up onto the document table 22, positioned at a second position to be turned to the upstream side of the document table 22, and supported at the inclined angle greater than the placing angle of the document table 22. At the upstream end of the document table 22, a support member 222 which projects above the document placing face and supports a placed document is provided.
