To provide an automatic door which allows passengers to smoothly pass therethrough.
According to the operation of the automatic door, upon detection of existence of a passenger or the like in a preliminary detection area R3 by a sensor section 30, a door controller 10 controls an opening/closing driving section 50 so as to cancel energization of a door 11 in a closing direction. Upon detection of existence of a passenger or the like in a preliminary activation detection area R2 by the sensor section 30, an electric lock controller 20 controls an electric lock 60 so as to start unlocking operation of the door 11. Further upon detection of existence of a passenger or the like in an activation detection area R1 by the sensor section 30, the door controller 10 controls the opening/closing driving section 50 so as to start opening operation of the door 11.
