PURPOSE: To eliminate a need for previous teaching operation and numerical input operation by an operator when operation to cut the edge of a work is carried out by detecting the shape, available right before machining, of the work under conveyance and controlling drive of a machining means based on the detecting work shape.
CONSTITUTION: A magnetic chuck mechanism to fix the conveyance attitude of a work W during conveyance of the work W through a given conveyance region is arranged in the middle of a conveyance passage through which the work W is conveyed along one-way by a conveyance mechanism 18. A machining mechanism 62 to effect a work to cut the edge of the work W is disposed above a specified conveyance region in the middle of the conveyance passage. Detecting mechanisms 128 and 130, such as a line sensor, to detect a work shape right before machining of the work W under conveyance are arranged upper stream of the conveyance direction of the work W from the machining mechanism 62. By controlling drive of the machining mechanism 62 based on a work shape detected by the detecting mechanisms 128 and 130, a given cutting work is applied on the edge of the work W.
