To provide an automatic electric connection mechanism capable of performing automatic connection and release by a single body of a coupler.
When connecting a car body 2 with a bogie 3, the car body 2 is lowered on the bogie 3 using an air spring 5 as a mark for positioning. An automatic electric connection mechanism 1 arranged in the vicinity of the air spring 5 is put in a condition in which positional relation of a connection part 10 on car body side and a connection part 20 on bogie side is substantially proper. Even if slight deviation occurs, the connection part 20 on bogie side can move in the horizontal direction by a bearing 27 in a lower part, and movable covers 13, 23 are opened when movable cover operation links 14, 24 are pressed by cover pressing bars 23, 13 guided to the movable cover operation links 14, 24 by guide parts 15, 25 to connect connection part main bodies 11, 21 mutually. At this time, an engaging condition of a lock pin 16 and a hook part 26 is formed. Connection operation is automatically performed in this way.
